Equiano Afro-Caribbean Rum 70cl
Equiano Rum is brought to us by a wonderful collaboration between Ian Burrell and his team alongside Richard Seale.
The original idea came from Ian Burrell to create a Rum that celebrates their beliefs, and the name pays homage to Olaudah Equiano, the hero who stood for equality.
Having first been been born in Africa, Eqquiano travelled to the Caribbean before going to the UK to help abolish slavery, the Rum has taken a similar journey itself.
Equiano's master distiller, Richard Seale takes 100% Pure Rum sourced from Gray's Distillery in Mauritius that is aged in ex-Cognac casks for a minimum of 10 years and then blends this with Award Winning ex-Bourbon Barrel aged Rum from Foursquare Distillery.
On the palate is a Warming Toffee and Butterscotch infusion with Brown Sugar notes with a Raisin undertone before a Subtle Sweetness on the finish with touches of Pepper and Orange Peel.
