Bols is considered one of the worlds oldest distillery which was first founded in 1575! The distillery 'T Lootsje is located in Amsterdam and was started by the Bols family. In 1652 the founders grandson Lucas Bols was born and in once established started to ship Bols around the world.
From this Lucas became a big shareholder in the East India Trading company where by he was able to get first choice of all the exotic herbs and spices. This in turn allowed him to create over 300 different liqueur recipes, which left a legacy that is still remembered today after his death in 1719.
