For those that don't know Game of Thrones is the ever-popular HBO series that takes its inspiration from the books released by George R.R. Martin. HBO have teamed up with Diageo to create a series of Whiskies dedicated to the houses of Westeros and have done so by pairing them with different Scottish Whisky producers, with each one having a different producer that best represents the house.
Talisker have been given the task of representing the Greyjoy family and this is because their distillery is located conveniently on the Isle of Skye, which matches the Greyjoys who are in charge of the Iron Islands.
When you think about the name Greyjoy it does seem quite contradictory grey normally referring to something rather dull and boring whereas joy seems a lot brighter and happier. Well this Whisky takes from the latter of their name as it its flavours are much more joyful.
What you can expect when trying this Whisky is burst of Fresh Veins of Salted Caramel which has been infused with Chilli and then quickly moves non to notes of Dried Fruits and Apples with a Smooth finish.
