Bitters have had a long hard struggle in the world, and are not something that everyone is aware of. Before prohibition these were considered very popular, as they would help to distinguish the difference in a cocktail and really enhance the flavours. However once prohibition hit bitters were almost driven out completely, except for Angostura. Some brands were able to survive this hit but never really got their footing back.

The Bitter truth was founded in 2006 when Stephen Berg and Alexander Hauck decided to create a bitter which was high quality and was able to make cocktails stand out again. That's just what they did and they have been bringing us new flavours ever since. They started in Germany and have since developed to distribute these to more and more countries.
