Crown royal was first invented in 1939 when King George VI and Queen Elizabethwhere the first Monarchs to visit Canada arriving by boat and then travelling across North America via Train. This spurred a Canadian Spirits entrepreneur to craft a Whisky which was suitable for the King and Queen.
The entrepreneur went through 600 different recipes to create the perfect Whisky fit for royalty, which he presented in a cut glass bottle, a regal purple bag with gold stitching. This was given to the King and Queen and only 10 cases were provided to the train which carried the Monarchs around. Word soon spread and the popularity of the Whisky spread, leading to its release in America in the 1960's! The rest is history!
