The Cocchi brand has been around for over 100 years and was first started by Giulio Cocchi who was a pastry chef from Florence. In the late nineteenth century Giulio moved to Asti which is a small town in Italy near Torino.
It was here that Giulio Cocchi found that Asti was the capital for Moscato and soon got to work on his own sparkling wine, and in 1891 brought out his range of sparkling wines and Vermouths. In 1913 Giulio Cocchi had the idea to bring out authorised retail bars in which people were able to taste his products and within one year 12 of these were available.
Since 1978 the Bava family have owned the Cocchi brand and have been producing and selling this ever since.
